About John

I am John Wilborn. I have taught general and choral music education for 25 years in the great State of Georgia! Like so many educators, my teaching experiences have been COMPLETELY revolutionized by the utilization of technology in the classroom. My passion(s) include teaching, music technology, my family, my faith and much more.

Having taught in grades 1-12 and on the college level, my experiences have allowed me to see great changes in our profession. I do not assume to KNOW IT ALL. Actually, I probably make more mistakes than sure-fire hits in terms of understanding and implementing technology correctly — at least on the FIRST TRY.

This blog is desgined to be an open source forum for communication in the area of music education as it relates to music technology. The greatest forms of learning involve collaboration. Therefore, this blog is designed as COLLABORATION among music educators and those wanting to learn more about this area. We hope to share ideas among us on MUSIC TECHNOLOGY in EDUCATION on all grade levels. We value your input and hope that you will share your ideas and ASK QUESTIONS!

Sing-cerely yours,

John Wilborn

  1. John,

I just stumbled on your site (from About.com) and read your article on Digital Natives.

I have a decided “old school” product to mention. I developed a series of music flash cards to help aspiring musicians learn basic music theory while away from their instruments and have been selling them on my site (www.music-flash-cards.com). The cards are printed on actual playing cards and range from learning the notes to intervals, tempo markings, chord recognition and various terms and symbols.

As a means of developing site popularity, I am wondering if you would be willing to post a review or a link from your site to mine.

If this is not possible or is inappropriate, I understand.

Regardless, I would love to hear any feedback from you on the cards if you have a moment to take a look at the site.

    Thanks for any consideration, Don
